About Me – mitchells@mhusd.org

Welcome to Room 13! This is going to be a great year! I have been an educator for over 27 years. I’ve taught kindergarten through eighth grade in the Morgan Hill School District. My educational background consists of a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Marketing Management with a minor in Cybernetics, Registered Dental Assistant, and a Professional Cleared Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with CLAD. I am married with two adult children. Both children attended elementary through high school in the Morgan Hill School District. I’ve been active in community activities such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Live Oak Water Polo, baseball, and cheerleading, etc. My interests are my family, teaching, friends, boating, reading, and technology. I am a lifelong learner, dedicated to teaching!!! I read many books and enjoyed traveling with family this summer. Although I had a good summer, I am ready to teach this year’s class and look forward to meeting my students.

Philosophy

Teaching is my passion. I come from a family of educators. I always wanted to be a teacher. When I was a child I’d observe my father teaching his class, and I would say I am going to be a teacher. I feel fortunate that I get to fulfill my lifelong dream and teach your student this year. “I teach from the heart” is my motto. This means I teach because I want to teach and inspire learning. I believe every student wants to learn. I am a lifelong learner, dedicated to teaching!!! I look forward to working with you and your student as an educational team. It is going to be a great year!
